Just another day in the snow

It's Thursday morning and I just took the dog out. It is really pretty outside in a weird kind of way. There are some snow on the ground, its cold, the trees are bare and blend in with the field behind the house. It is a nice brownish gray tone to all the surroundings and I picture a beautiful portrait of a girl standing on this monochrome field with the morning sun just hitting her right. Hmmmmm but where is my model and where is my camera....Oh well that was a photo I took with my eyes this morning I guess.

In the pool

This summer when Hanna was here we were hanging out by the pool on day. I'd like to post her picture from when she is jumping of the diving board, but I don't think she would like that, so I am just posting this one when she was franticly looking for her favorite hair clip she lost after she had jumped in. She is so funny and I still laugh at all the fun moments we had together this summer. I am also posting a serious picture of her that I love. She is my sister forever and I love her so much. Again, Hanna, thank you so much for visiting and for making me laugh so much.

Scottish Irish Festival, PA

Not the best weather, but hey...fun fun! It's been a while since I shot some pics, except for a wedding a couple weeks ago. This time with my new Canon 50D...still in learning. I'm posting a bunch of pics, so if you feel like seeing them bigger just click on the image. I am totally into blurring my pictures too right now. I like it.

Thanks Brett

I'm totally in love with Brett Dennen and his lyrics. I'm posting yet another song by him. I made a little collage to go with it. Hope you enjoy this too. It is called Heaven

Beyond the rules of religion
The cloth of conviction
Above all the competition
Where fact and fiction meet

There's no color lines or casts or classes
There is no fooling the masses
Whatever faith you practice
Whatever you believe

Heaven, heaven
What the hell is heaven?
Is there a home for the homeless?
Is there hope for the hopeless?

Throw away your misconceptions
There's no walls around heaven
There's no codes you gotta know to get in
No minutemen or border patrol

You must lose your earthly possession
Leave behind your weapons
You can't buy your salvation
And there is no pot of gold

Heaven ain't got no prisons
No government, no business
No banks or politicians
No armies and no police

Castles and cathedrals crumble
Pyramids and pipelines tumble
The failure keeps you humble
And leads us closer to peace

Heaven, heaven
What the hell is heaven?
Is there a home for the homeless?
Is there hope for the hopeless?
Is there a home for the homeless?
Is there hope for the hopeless?

So true...please read

There ain't no reasons things are this way
It's how they've always been and they intend to stay
I can't explain why we live this way
We do it everyday

Preachers on the podium speaking of saints
Prophets on the sidewalks begging for change
Old ladies laughing from the fire escape, cursing my name

I got a basket full of lemons and they all taste the same
A window and a pigeon with a broken wing
You can spend your whole life working for something
Just to have it taken away

People walk around pushing back their desk
Wearing pay checks like necklaces and bracelets
Talking 'bout nothing, not thinking about death
Every little heart beat, every little breath

People walk a tight rope on a razor's edge
Carrying their hurt and hatred and weapons
It could be a bomb or a bullet or a pin
Or a thought or a word or a sentence

There ain't no reasons things are this way
It's how they've always been and they intend to stay
I don't know why I say the things I say,
But I say them anyway

But love will come set me free
Love will come set me free
I do believe
Love will come set me free
I know it will
Love will come set me free
Yes

Prison walls still standing tall
Some things never change at all
Keep on building prisons,
Gonna fill them all
Keep on building bombs
Gonna drop them all

Working your fingers bare to the bone
Breaking your back, make you sell your soul
Like a lung is filled with coal,
Suffocating slow

The wind blows wild and I may move
But politicians lie and I am not fooled
You don't need no reason or a 3 piece suit
To argue the truth

The air on my skin and the world under my toes
Slavery is stitched to the fabric of my clothes
Chaos and commotion wherever I go
Love, I try to follow

But love will come set me free
Love will come set me free
I do believe
Love will come set me free
I know it will
Love will come set me free
Yes

There ain't no reasons things are this way
It's how they've always been and they intend to stay
I can't explain why we live this way
We do it everyday
